says I have wrong Operating System??? HP Tuner
HP Tuner for a 99 f-body. I use it for my 99 TA and my friends 99 formula. I have a 99 fbody PCM in my Nova which I can read and only write it with only with the program I read from it. Any other car I can put in any 99 f-body BIN that I want to and it works fine.
I tried putting the BIN from my TA into the Nova and it says the OS of the file doesn not match the OS of the PCM.
anyone know whats up with it?

Earlier model years went through several OS revisions
per; the '98s apparently had like half a dozen and they
are fundamentally incompatible in how they arrange
the data, so writing one's data into another is like
putting your wallet in the Cuisinart. Later on things
got more stable at GM I guess. That (the Cuisinart
effect) is what they're trying to protect you from.
Then again, sometimes you can be the first to come
along with an OS number they haven't seen. That
happens less often now, but it could, and then you
would want to hit up support@ with the OS number and
the error messages, and let them fix you up with an
update.
