Default EFIlive question

What is the difference between the FlashScan Personal and the FlashScan workshop?... and what the hell makes the FlashScan workshop like $7000? Someone wanting to just tune 1 car would only need to get the FlashScan Personal right?

Personal = 2 PCM licenses (can add licences if your got more cars).
Commercial = 2 PCM licences with ability to flash in a different OS.
Workshop = Unlimited PCM licence.

LoL, foff667 you beat me by a minute.

97 - 98 corvettes are unlimited. So are 98 camaros. That is included free with any option of comercial or personal tune.

Ross, Paul, obviously the plan to update the website in Mandrarin Chinese is confusing people. How about a series of pops and clicks, like the dolphins? I must admit the online chinese classes were fun.

Yes you can tune both vehicles with your intial purchase. Unless you want to upgrade your 2002 with an EFILive Custom Operating System, then you only need the Personal version.

Can some explain what exactly an EFILive Custom Operating System is? Basically why would one choose commericial over personal?

Personal doenst allow you to do full reflashes Commercial does. For a list of the Custom Operating systems check out www.efilive.com/forum and that should answer all your questions. Personal also doenst allow you to upgrade your 00 to an 01 or 02 for this you will also need the Commercial version.

Thanks for the quick reply. What do you mean by a full reflash?

Changing your PCM's operating system from a 2000 to a 2001 or 2002 a format and a full reinstallation like going from 98 to XP and doing a clean install

I have a 2002, so no need for that, but a COS does sound pretty cool. Worth it to buy the commercial over the personal?

Depends on your point of view...

Not necessary unless you want to run a COS.

Or...

It's only an extra $150 or so and it will allow me to run a COS, which I might as well go ahead and do.
