you really only have 2 choices... lt1 edit and tunercat ... the Tunercat LT1 product (if available for 94 vehicles... I think it is?) seems to be a pretty popular/stout product for OBD1 vehicles

Edit: Just read your post more... didn't realize moates has one too... his products seem to be good quality as well... I have no personal experience w/any of them though so not sure of the differences

edit2: Doh... didn't notice you just wanted a cable

May wanna check up on ebay for a cheap laptop w/serial... should be able to get one for 150 or less

Most serial to USB converters don't work well. I can't remember what one I have (I can look when I get home), but it seemed to be the consensus that it was the one most people had the best luck with. I think I got it at Best Buy and it was like $80?
The cable I got is from Andrew at AKMcables (actually have both OBDI versions of his cables) and I haven't had a problem with either in 4+ years.

well i have a cheap serial to usb converter so that is prolly the problem. i have the akm cable now, it seems fine just not the converter. since your's was like 80 do you think it is worth getting the moates cable? it goes straight to usb and is 80 itself.

I have no experience with the Moates cable, but I know Craig is a stand up guy and wouldn't sell you junk.

BTW, the converter is a Belkin. Model number is F5U103, and it looks like they've come down in price quite a bit. About $35 now.

Yes, the cable I offer (ALDU1+CABL1) goes straight from 94 OBD1 to USB. If you want the 95 cable, you can opt for the CABL2. Don't worry, the PayPal gateway is legit.

The cable should work just fine with TTS DataMaster and TunerCat, the most common applications. If you've got any questions at all, just let me know and I'll be glad to help.

I own almost everything moates sells. You cannot go wrong with any if his products. They are great quality and he has the best customer service around. I use the OBD_1 cable on LT1 cars with tunercat and it works without a glitch.
