Default HELP problems after LS6 heads

I just installed the following parts, New LS6 heads, with Rev dual springs and titanium retainers, Comp OE lifters, 7.4" hardened pushrods, and emissions LT's. The car is running horrible, all that is good is the idle. It pops after i get on it above 2-3K Rpm, and there is a huge loss of power. The lifters are not the type R, they are normal OE replacements. All of ths was put on a 99 LS1 still have the ls1 intake and all emissions are hooked up. Heads were new stockers. The car also seems to "pulsate" when i accelerate. First gear is slow as well. No cam yet til i figure this out, will tuning fix my problem or should i look elsewhere?
thanks
C

Did you try copying over the LS6 timing tables? From what I've been reading, head design has a lot to do with what kind of timing you can run....and I highly doubt the '98 timing tables look anything like the tables out of an '02 Z06.

You might want to drop a * or 2 of timing, but I don't think that would cause 'pulsing' or slow acceleration. Sounds more like fueling (lean surge from an air leak) or spark misfire-- cracked plug, wire not on good. Also, are the rockers torqued properly?

Also, if you put Long Tubes on at the same time, be sure the front O2 didn't get switched. It'll run like sheet if they are.

If it makes you feel any better, I just did an LS6 head swap on my 99 LS1 and am having issues also. Not the same ones you are having, mind you, but issues none the less

I was referring to the O2s being switched side to side.
