Question Where can I get a reliable tune or computer edit for my '00 SS? i need one!

My SS keeps spitting out rich and O2 sensor codes. I need a good reliable place to tune my computer. I have a cam, headers, 4.10 gears, intake manifold...

I found a shop in San Antonio that charges $400.00 with free tunes/edits for life. any + or - of a part and they'll tune it. Any of those in Houston or nearby area that anybody would recomend? i just want to be driving back and forth for this...

*ALSO*

Would it be a good or better idea to buy the power programmer myself like the slp or the hypertech? You know the handheld computer you plug into the bottom of your dash and click Y or N on it? How bad is this to learn to use? Is this even what i need? If i buy this, can anyone help me edit my car?

Any good ones you'd recommend?

thanks in advance for your help and opinions

Jerry

I personally wouldnt waste my money on a Hypertech.....I heard they the tuning doesnt really help much and some have reported that it isnt very good for your engine. My friend had one for his car and anyone could use it. The only thing he used it for was to mess with his trans shift points and firmness and to raise his govenor.

My car was tuned with Hp tuners and I saw a 30 hp and 28 ft. tq. gain. Runs alot smoother since they messed with the transmission shift firmness. There should be alot of places to get a good tune in San Antonio or Houston....Sorry, Im from Amarillo and cant help you too much on that.
