Iat Guage Turned Red???

Default Iat Guage Turned Red???

ok i was driving down the road and had the HPtuners scanner on with all the guages display, ok well i was sitting still and then the IAT guage just turned red. i was just wondering is this normal or is something wrong with my car i haven't even tuned it yet bc i dont know how but still should it do that??

dont worry about it. thats just the air temp your motor breathes in. as outside temp drops so will that temp. as outside temp goes up so will that temp

wait till you see it in bumper to bumper traffic on a 90* day it will climb HIGH

I think the default setting turns the IAT gauge red at 100*F, nothing to worry about. I've seen iat temps above 140*F when it's 105*+ outside.

schwooo whipe the sweat off fore head thanks guys got a lil worried, oh and also another question really quick ok on the HPtuners guage display it said that my water temp. was 230 once but the water temp. guage in the dash said lil over 210, which should i believe??

Go with the HPT temp, 99 and up dash gauges don't reflect the actual temp.

You guys are lightweights. Ive seen over 160 on my car with stock thermostat and stock fan temps with a FRA mod that let the hot air rise off the radiator and right into the intake. Made me get some cool air ducting right quick...

well does 230 seem kind of high?? it doesn't even have a thermostat in it.

Perhaps it was a short in the IAT circuit? I know infinate resistance (unplugged) results in -38 or something. maybe no resistance (shorted) results in 230? or perhaps it was just a quick hiccup...
