My HP Tuners wont Scan Please Help

My HP Tuners wont Scan Please Help
I tried to to log today with my HP Tuners and it would let me do anything?except load up my saved Tables.I hit the play button it pushes down with the arrow but doesnt read and Doesnt say any kind of conection problem.I have never had it do this.Do I maybe need to do something with settings in my Laptop?I am running Windows XP...Thanks

There are two "play" buyttons, one for playing back an
already loaded log and one to start scanning. The one on
the left, is for new scan (or you could hit the space bar).
If you want to verify that the thing is connecting use the
"get vehicle info". If it coughs up your VIN and various OS
numbers then you're at least on speaking terms.
If you have the table view up and hit the play button (left)
you should see the values start to boogie around. Also the
lower left of that view should say "Connected". Otherwise
"Not Connected".
