Default SD VE question.... HPT

Im running a 2 bar SD OS. What exactly does the VE table do? Is it used to control fueling? Im asking because on my turbo setup, I have a basic VE table (the one in the HPT tutorial for 2 bar). Ive tried playing with it, but I cant log that far up. I have to take the PE table and make it 1.00 to get my A/F to about 10.0 at WOT. 1.00 should be 14.7 A/F based on the 14.7 / PE formula. I also have the PE enabled at 2800 RPMs. Does the PCM still use the VE at WOT?

since you're in sd, set your pe to what you want it to be, then leave it. make the changes to the ve table. i believe ve is still compared when in PE. ve is where you make the adjustments for acutal vs commanded afr. does that help?

Actual A/F is what the WB is seeing and what the car is running and commanded is what the PE table (or boost enrich table) is commanding, right?

In the VE table, if I lower the numbers, what does that do? What happens if I make the numbers higher? Im asking because I dont want to fubar something right off the bat. My luck isnt evry good.

the higher the number the more efficient the pcm thinks your motor is in that cell meaning it adds fuel, and vice versa.

higher number=more fuel, lower ve=less fuel. what the wideband is reading is actual and what you have in pe is commanded. Go through Marcins site (redhardsupra) it has a buttload of info that could answer quite a few questions for ya.
