Default Cool/Cheap Notebook for tuning

Just an FYI on this notebook I picked up off ebay. It's not lightening speed but plenty fast enough for tuning/logging. The only "down side" is that the cd drive is not built in, nor is wifi. This vendor does sell a cd/dvd external drive and (one very nice thing) sells a 12v cord for the Notebook. The screen size is plenty big enough yet the physical size manageable inside the car. (us vette guys are a little more limited on space). At $275, (I had to go $285, but this vendor has several of them listed now at $275) it seems like a steal of a deal to me. Don't forget the drive and 12v cable. Total was just about $350.
This is a link to my closed auction. Click on the seller's listing or store to see more of them.

Dang! $450 for a Gateway... sorry I missed that one. I haven't seen a 'store' laptop hit under $700, and Notebooks are ridiculous.

The laptops at 500-600 are pretty good deals but the problem I have with my other 2 laptops (14" and a 15") is that 1) they are too big for "in cab" working and 2) they don't have a touch screen so I have to mess around with the pad or track ball mouse. oh well, not really meant to be a debate. Just thought it was a pretty good deal for a small computer dedicated to tuning.

yeah I wasnt debating, the touchscreen definitly looks very cool, as far as size goes thats another good point...my wifes 15.4 is HUGE...for tuning I would definitly prefer a smaller laptop, personally my 14.1 is just about perfect for me.

Careful guys...there's some stuff in there like "battery may or may not work." It looks like these things come from lease returns. But, it doesn't sound like they put a whole lot of effort into fully 'refurbishing' them. Just a heads up...
