Tuning for M6 to A4 swap on 98.
I am in the middle of doing an M6 to A4 swap on my trans am. I have a donar car (both are 98's) and it is a straight swap (all parts including wiring harness etc.). The tune on my M6 car is perfect for my TR224/longtubes/etc. I have done a search and didnt uncover to much. I was wondering what is the best way to change the tune with my HP Tuners. Should I just do a re-write entire to the M6 computer with the Auto cars bin, then upload the calibrations only from the original M6 tune? Or should I just copy and paste all the trans tables from the A4 bin to the M6 bin? I know I will need to do some final adjustments for Idle, etc. Both cars are 98's I have heard that swapping tunes is slightly different for the 98's rather than the 99+'s. Thanks.

Well I really dont wanna swap out the PCM. The other car has a bit more miles than mine and I would rather stick with my computer. What other options do I have. It cant be that hard to just reflash for the A4.

I would just flash a full image reflash with a A4 file, note: be careful to make sure the full image file your using is not corrupt, or you will kill your pcm.
If it was me doing this swap, I would flash it with a tech 2 as an automatic, and then change your vin back to the correct vin with tuning software.

So U think I should just take the 98 auto bin and flash it onto my M6 computer, then change the vin back to the correct vin? What should I do about the tune for My cam, longtubes etc, just copy and paste all the tables?
