And set up a fan so the exhaust fumes don't kill you while tuning.

make use of HPT's or EFIL's 1-bar speed density OS's; save that BS3 $$.

if you're using HPT ... apply 1 credit for RTT cheap and makes idle tuning VERY easy

for WOT... scan and change, scan and change.... never dealt with anything that big but I'd expect the same concepts to apply

Or for 2 credits, get the 1-bar SD AND real time tuning.... hell of a deal for what you can get out of it. I wouldn't screw around with a MAF at all (I'm sure you're not, I'm just throwing that out for others) on a setup like that.

^^^ the 1 bar Speed Density and MAF RTT both are only 1 credit

it's 2 credits if you want 2 or 3 bar Speed Density with RTT

RTT comes free with most of our 1 bar SD custom OS's meaning only 1 credit is used. You really can't beat the value of real time tuning for that price.

Stick with the factory computer..

Big solid roller around .750 lift. Done with Efilive OS5 (for future nitrous) and a Moates.net road runner. You can accomplish the same thing with Hptuners.

If you are going to stay with the factory PCM go witht he EFI/LIVE RoadRunner setup. Changes are made automaticly just like a aftermarket standalone. No stopping to reflash.

HPT will do all the same and for cheaper. You just have to copy, paste, and flash the PCM before changes are permanant.

closed loop idle tuning with such a huge(presumably) cam probably wont work, manual or RTT.

with so much overlap, unburned air/fuel is blowing by the exhaust valve borking the O2 sensors, causing it to dump more fuel

idle will have to be done manually, by turning off closed loop in the idle cell ranges, and manually adjusting the AFR until it idles decent, then updating the VE range with those numbers.

be sure to add alot of timing as well. all of this is assuming alot of overlap, but since all he mentions is lift and not any other numbers this may all be unecessary.

BOTH HPTuners and EFI LIVE can do the same thing. we have discovered this.

but for my 0.02 cents; I have efi live. you would be amazed what the stock computer can do with some few mods such as a custom OS or such...

EFI Live Custom OS 5 will allow you to run TPS vs RPM instead of MAP vs RPM for your VE tuning. This makes your part throttle tuning have MUCH more resolution and you can dail that big cam to idle and drive like a much smaller one. If HPT has the same feature, it is very worthwhile to use.

The real time tuning would be nice.

The best solution will be to convert that thing to Speed Density (1 bar). Speed density tuning will solve most of your big cam problems as soon as you convert the PCM.

Yes, our 1 bar SD OS has always had a tps vs. rpm table
