Timing on stock motor?

Timing on stock motor?
I am trying to see if my timing is advanced so I can spray more. Looking at it with a snap on scanner looks like about 21*-21* at idle. At around 3000 rpm around 40*. Would my timing be advanced or at stock or even retarted? Thanks all. My current tune is mail order from Texas speed and they cant tell me if they changed the timing

My point was....you spray nitrous at WOT. What your timing is at part throttle (3,000rpm) or at idle doesn't matter. You need to see where you're at when you have it floored.
If you're cam'd, chances are your timing is set close to 28* @ WOT. If you want to spray, the rule of thumb is -2* for every 50hp of N2O.

It shouldn't fluctuate much at all during WOT. To be safe, you could have someone sit in the passenger seat and call out the timing numbers displayed. It should be somewhere between 24 and 29 degrees (fairly steady) for WOT.

What SSpdDmon means by WOT is wide open throttle regardless of RPM,
or, more specifically, from peak torque to peak power, not just at 6500 RPM;
you can't just increase the RPM to 6500 and look at timing...
you have look at timing as you go from peak torque to peak power under load.

It's not gonna be the same through the band at WOT, the 99 table has a HUGE valley in it.

Your only option is to hook up a scanner, drive through 2nd or 3rd gear at wide open throttle, and have someone actually watch the scanner to see how much timing you have while at full throttle.
