Default PCM swapping between 98 & 99-00 T/A's

do you guys know if PCM's are interchangable between the 98 and 99 & newer models? The cars in question are a 98 T/A A4 and a 00 T/A A4. If the PCM's were swapped between these two cars, would they work?

thnks

The pin outs are different so you cant just direct swap.

hmm..that sucks

you say it's not a "direct" swap. Can it be done somehow? Or is it not worth the trouble?

The 98's have a unique PCM. 99 & up are all the same with different programming.

Only way for a direct swap would be the entire wiring harness at the same time

It required changing the cluster, and fuel tank to use all OEM parts.

A big pain...

Yes, the 99 engine has all the same sensors in the same locations. So you can use your 98 engine harness with it. Except the 99 has a 2 wire coolant temp sensor, and the 98 has a 3 wire. So keep the 3 wire sensor from the old heads.
