Default Please Help (tuning)

I put a cam, and Mac headers on my '99 Camaro. It allready had a lot of the other bolt on's, including TCI super street fighter and 3.73 gears. The cam's 549 - 549, 230 - 236 @ .50 LSA 110.

I've done the tuning for missfires and hot start up. Now I have a problem when trying to launch the car. If I stall it up and nail it, it seems to boog. Or it fills like it's comeing out with the converter locked and then about half way through first it unlocks and the car takes off. And when trying to cruise through town or at slow speeds ( 30-40mph)the converter locks and makes the car buck terribly.

Someone please help, there's got to be someway to tune this out, I'm new with LS1edit and trying to learn.

What did you do for hot start-ups? If you went too low on the VE, it can cause a bog. You might also try putting the VE back to stock and changing the Open Loop F/A to address hot start-ups.

I only did the low RPM's in the VE. How do I change the Open Loop F/A. And what is that. Like I said I'm new at this.

Try doing a modified version of the VE table start. Make only changes to the 400 and 800 column. Return the 1200 column to stock values.

Big cams always want to surge at low rpm because they hold the valves open too long and actually allow both valves to be open at the same time for a few degrees. That's good for high rpm power though. The surge has to be tuned out, but it will probably never be the same as it was with the stock cam, depending on how big you went with the upgrade cam. You never said how low (%) you went with the VE; there's a limit to this.

60% was too much for my car, caused a bog so I put it back to 80% then leaned out my Open Loop F/A Mix to help with start-ups.

I think I've traced my problem to the trans. It set some TBS codes the other day. then when the light would go out the car would run right. Just got to figure out whats doing it.
