Default T-56 swap

I dont know if this is in the right catergory but I'll give it a whack. I'll be swapping my A4 for a T-56 soon and Im having a very hard time trying to find a M6 full wiring harness for 99-02 LS1s. My question is if worse comes to worse Im going to splice my A4 wiring harness (No I'm not going to purchase the harness from Painless for over 700 bucks). Basically what do I need to splice and what would I have to purchase to make the new tranny work (i.e. any new sensors I would need to splice on the A4 wiring harness...etc...etc..)

Basically you don't need to tear your A4 harness up at all.
You can use wire taps at the plug that connects to the A4 shifter, you connect two wires for the hatch, run the reverse light wires to the trans, splice the neutral safety under the dash (not like most people that run wires under the carpet from the old shifter plug to the pedal switch).

To get cruise and reverse lockout to work you need to add one or two pins to the VCM harness.

If I wanted to go back to an A4 I'd have to remove a few added wires, my original harness is 100% intact.

When you do an A4 to M6 swap you don't have to cut ANYTHING on the original harness.
You can either jump the wires that went to the A4 shifter or cut and splice but thats part of the interior wiring harness, no one in their right mind is going to change that out just to have not cut 5 or 6 wires. Especially if you jump them instead of cutting.

the harness for the m6 only has rear o2's and vss on it. the auto has the pressure switch plug. its the interior harness that is different. i just got done with mine tapped pins 44 and 32 iirc for cruise control and reverse lockout. pretty easy actually. orange w/black stripe gets connected to the black w/white stripe. this is so hatch release will work. brown and light green run to the reverse lights. pin 44 runs to reverese lockout and pink wire from o2 runs to the other side. pin 32 runs to clutch anticipation switch and the other side of the switch runs to the black w/white stripe wire on the ADL

thats because the A4 needs a bunch of wires for the pressure control, shift solenoids, tcc solenoid, etc. The M6 needs Two wires for the reverse lockout, and I don't know of anyone thats wired cags on a swap, and for the speed sensor you just extend the A4 wires.

My A4 plug is strapped up out of the way, untouched, unhacked.

I think I have a line on a M6 harness for sale. Which means I can sell my A4 harness.

i just finished my 6-speed swap in my 94Z..... actually the whole car is basically a SWAP... last year i swapped everything from my 98' parts camaro into my 94.... drove around with the A4 and wanted a 6-speed.... read a nice thread on here that helped me out.... forgot to post the link... not hard to find... has a write up on which wires to splice... all i did was where the park neutral safety switch was the black and orange wire i spliced together for the hatch... then i believe the dark green and purple wire are for the clutch safety switch then the other 2 wires are for reverse..then extend the wires for the Vehicle speed sensor... the a4 and m6 harness use the same plug.. then you just need to tune your pcm for a 6-speed.... i went somewhat fancy and bought the whips through GM.... about 20 bucks a pop....
