Default Need assistence with base E85

i plan to run my setup on E85. I have motron #60s. fuel system is returnstyle. I was wondering if anyone could help me out on setting up my base tune so i can least fire. I did a search and didnt find exactly what i needed. im not asking for someone to tune my ride just lend some advice to point me in right direction

bascially which tables need adjusted and how for the E85, setup will also be using meth if that means anything. combo is 8.8cr 4.8, ported fast, PT88, 230/235 .598/.601 115+1, fed with -8 return with -6. using twin 340s. 3 bar map

I have Hptuners and will be using a 3bar SD tune

thanks in advance

As far as fueling it takes a whole lot more with E85, here is a basic comparison of what to shoot for:
Air/Fuel Ratios

Fuel Stoich Rich Limit Lean Limit
Gasoline 14.7.1 12.5.1 13.2.1
Methanol 6.4.1 5.4.1 5.7.1
Ethanol 9.0.1 6.4.1 7.8.1
E-85 9.7.1 6.9.1 8.4.1

Unless you are running a 3 psi gate spring, those injectors are too small for E85.

What? I ran my 4.8 to 12lbs of boost and about 530rwhp on E85 and 60lbs injectors...

To the OP, did that link I gave you help? Let me know if you have anymore questions about it.

I was being sarcastic, but at the same time I wasn't totally... that 88mm is gonna make huge power up top, and the OP must have plans to run it up there since he is going with a 3-bar OS.

yes i do have plans of running large numbers with the 88mm. im only using the 4.8 till i can rebuild my 408. so i tossed all my parts i have for the 408 onto the 4.8 to just get me running and see what the little motor can withstand.

now i thought the 4.8 with the 60s and E85 would be enough for now. i have a 15.2 spring and was only going run off spring for now. i do have a boost controller for later and planned to upgrade to much larger injectors when 408 is in the vehicle

Assuming your trims are ok on gas,
Set your AFR to 10. (ball park). Log some trims. Average the trims, adjust your AFR by that amount (averaged).

Before people jump my case for this method, keep in mind not all E85 is created equal. E85 is deinfed by a MINIMUM of 15% gasoline, and it varies from station to station, batch to batch. Just get it in the ballpark.

Once your AFR is set to within reason, tune it like anything else. Play with timing (E85 loves it) and in cold weather you may need some more cranking fuel as ethanol doesn't evaporate as easily as gas.

That's how I did mine. Used the average of short term trims to adjust the stoich AFR (B3601 for you EFILive guys) for the first few tanks till I had pretty much all E85 in the truck (since it still had a couple of gallons of regular gas in it when I filled up) and then fine tuned it in with the WB from there.
