Default Just curious because I had a crazy idea. Is this possible?

After reading some of Smokey Yunicks old magazine articles from the '70s, one of them being on individual cylinder tuning, I got a crazy idea.

Is there a pcm out there (money not being the issue) where you could run:

8 o2 (wideband) sensors (one per cylinder)
8 knock sensors (one per cylinder)
The ability to individually adjust the timing per cylinder
The ability to individually play/adjust each injector to that cylinders need

Edit- Also the ability to read 8 tsp sensors

Also, what about adjusting timing down to a quarter degree, or an eighth degree? Or extremely minute adjustments on pulse width on the injectors?

And anything else I'm not thinking of that could contribute to each individual cylinders tunability by the computer.

Maybe these are newb questions, but I'm not too familiar with computers and tuning, so if you want to flame, flame on but at least help me learn better in the process.

Not sure if a single PCM exists for the application, but it would certainly be possible with multiple controllers.

Are they? I don't know and have never worked with one. I never thought to email or call either place about it.

Why would you want to? The better way is to use to wideband O2 sensors and then use theraml couples for the rest. The changes from one cylinder to the next are small. What do you think you would gain. Is this about how to get rid of 40,000.00?

No, it's just something I've had on my mind. It's nothing I would ever try to do.

More or less the whole point of it would be to take an engine and tune each cylinder to that specific cylinders needs which would raise the over all efficiency of the the engine.

I think with an ITB setup and the right tuning it would be pretty fun/cool/learning experience/whatever. I get possessed with crazy ideas like this once or twice and have no intention to make them happen, but it's food for thought.

NHRA Pro Stock cars do exactly what you are talking about. They use 8 widebands to monitor and tune each individual cylinder.
