Yea like he said^^^^^^^^^it comes with the LS1 and the T56 of 4L60E. Some times I wish I could go back and get a Formula I like the V6 look don't get me wrong I love the way the Trans Am looks but one day I will get a Formula!

Not technically right, but right enough.

Actually, "Firebird" was the model name.
Formula means that it's the V8 version.
Trans-Am is "simply" a trim-package for the Formula.

All Trans-Ams are therefor Formulas, but not all Formulas are Trans-Ams.

Pretty much what everyone is saying. So, T-Tops, leather, power seats, power windows are all options on the Formula but standard for the T/A. Mine's a Formula.

Well, assuming that you haven't changed your trim, it's a:
Firbird Formula Trans-Am

TA-swede has it right, a Trans Am is really just an RPO code.

Y82 Merchandised Package, Trans Am, Base Coupe
Y84 Merchandised Package, Trans Am

Over the past few years I've seen several posts regarding questions on Vin identification and RPO misinformation specific to the 4th Gen V8 Firebirds.
First off the vin #'s are not model specific. This is why your DMV registration and or Insurance info may say Formula/Trans Am.
Basically the Vin# does not distinguish between Formula and Trans Am it Identifies a V8 Firebird.
The RPO codes are the only way to properly identify the model.
W66 is the Formula Merchandise Pkg
Y82 is the Trans Am Merchandise Pkg
Also the WS9 RPO is refered to as the "Formula Conversion Pkg".
This does not mean that the car is or ever was a Formula. It means the Car is V8 Equipped. The aforementioned W66 and Y82 RPO Codes must be present to identify the model. So all V8 Firebirds will carry the WS9 RPO

WS9 + W66 = Formula
WS9 + Y82 = Trans Am
WS9 + Y84 = Trans Am Convertible
