Default SS Style On TA?

Over and over, I've seen custom hoods on Z28 Camaro's that embody the Ram Air scoops design from the WS6, but never have I seen a custom SS style hood on a TA. So I'm just curious if it's ever been. Has anyone here gotten or seen a customized SS style hood on a Firebird?

If anyone has pictures, I'd love to see one.

I've never seen it, but trying to picture it in my head, I think it would look horrible.

Cool pic. Thanks, Llust1WS6.

Seeing it like this, it has a bit of awkwardness to it, but not nearly as bad as I originally thought it would be. I think it would look nicer without that ridge in the middle. But for a 98-02 model, I think the dual scoops on the front bumper would have to be somehow integrated into the SS hood design, or otherwise it'll never work.

Of course, on a performance standpoint, the Ram Air style is just more effective than the SS, so it would just serve for appearance points. I remember someone telling me that the SS scoop directs the air a long way with twist and turns before entering the airbox, and by then, a lot of the air's momentum is lost. Though ironically, the most effective (or true Ram Air) design belongs to the Firehawk and Z06 which don't even carry the Ram Air logo.

WHY???????

Putting a "Camaro" hood on a "Firebird" would be like putting mudflaps on a Ferrari.

There's a good reason you haven't seen this done.
