repaint.. would it hurt the "collectorness" of the car
today in a parking lot a yellow c6 vette parked next to my 02 CETA. they color difference was night and day.... my car looked like it was dull and pale yellow, while the vette had a vibrant deep yellow. then i had the thought that since i am able to paint my car (work in a body shop), that i should make it that color and then have a graphics maker make up all the graphics, and then make it so i can paint them on before i clear it.
now i dont want to hurt the collectorness of the car and i cant figure out for myself if it would make it forsay worth less.
anythoughts?

If you have like 100 miles and its a garage queen, then no way in hell would I paint it. If you are like the most of us and drive it daily, then paint it the way you like it. If someone is looking for a CETA, Im sure that most would prefer the corvette yellow unless its back to the garage.

are they even the same color codes from the CETA to the Vette? I would leave yours alone, maybe try some kind of paint resto? what about color sanding? i dont really know what it is, but have heard the term around when speaking of paint/body work?

i have not seen the paint code on the c6 but right now at m shop we have a yellow c5 that looks to be the same as the c6 so ill see if they are the same paint code.
right now it is my daily driver but next year i will be going away to college and the car will be seeing maybe 3000 miles a year after this year. its not the way i want it to be but who wants the beautiful car to get college done to it.
i guess in the long run it will always be #445 and can easily be verfied by others and with the idea of keeping the CETA style just brighter it should carry the last of the breed essence. if not i can always reverse the colors and use black on the car and yellows for the graphics.....lol

dont do black car yellow graphics, that wouldnt look to good imo.
its like ppl that ask if they should change the color on the SSLE, DON'T.
if you like TA's but want a different color then buy another. for the price youd pay to have yours painted, i know you work at a body shop but still, and the fact that the car could never ever be considerd stock again. if i were buying your car later down the road the fact that its a documented CETA car would be an important selling point. the value of that alone is worth not changing the color.
but in the end its YOUR car, I personally wouldnt do it if it were mine.

how many miles does your car have on it?
again like others said if it isn't 100 mi garage queen never driven bone stock, etc. I wouldn't worry about collector value...you plan on holding onto this thing for another 25+ years at a minimum?
paint it whatever you want.

Leave it alone man. The two colors are different, if anything repaint it same color with top of the line products, a good body shop and tons of clear for wet sanding to make it look like glass.

my last car i spent 4 hours sanding the hood! went 1200, 1500, 2000, 3000. buffed like glass. but after that i think im done with black for a while. we use the standox paints with their 2k hs clear...... results were amazing. if i painted this with painting the graphics before clear it will take alot, and i mean alot of clear to "bury" the graphics..... lots and lots of sanding. i could always make some test panels from stock to the vette color and many inbetween and see if i cant brighten it up a bit
