Default Auto head lights delete?

Is there a way delete their operation and just control them by the switch? Every time I key on in the garage they go up! I do have access to the computer if it can be done. Thanks, Les...

Lights shouldn't be going up without switch. You have another problem..

the lights on the 98 I'm buying go up when it gets dark enough to trigger the sensors I guess? But you can turn them on manually

Never heard of that on a Trans Am, but it may have something to do with Canada's regulations?

That's the only thing I can think of...If they go up by themselves it is usually a good sign that the gears are stripped out

The gears are stripping out. Go into the firebird headlight sticky in the top of this section of the forum.

I'll have to look into it. The lights were off when I drove it, but when it was driven up onto the ramp in the shop I work at the lights went up.

Yeah, I know when the gears are stripping, it will make a grinding noise and all but never heard of them coming up on there on but I have seen stranger things with these cars so you never know.

I just took slowbird's advice and looked at the sticky and yeah, seems like you have stripped gears. Very simple fix.

I believe it is a Canada regulation. I've heard of them being required to have automatic headlights that come on in dark locations. Somebody had a TA that had them pop up in the tunnels and it just annoyed them to no end.

EDIT: YES!!!! [/BRAIN]

Well it is a Canada regulation and the car also has running lights in the front lower corners, which i am ok with. No issues with stripped gears. So nothing so far as how to delete them?

Well, I'm not 100% sure but looking at the picture Warshrike posted, maybe you could just unplug the light sensor and just use them manually.

There are two fuses under the hood for the headlight doors. Pull them both and they won't go up in the dark. Of course, you will have to put them back in to drive when it's pitch black outside

This is what I had to do in my SS. I hate auto lights that you cannot control. Don't even want to think about how much they would **** me off on a TA
