Is the clutch on a 87 firebird hydraulic? The 87 I bought has a spongey clutch... you have to pump it up to get it to do anything....? I have not really taken a close look under the hood yet... too cold outside! That and I wasnt planning on keeping the car the way it is, I just need to know so I can move it when I need to...

Yes it should be. The should be a reservoir under the hood next to the brake master cylinder.

ok thank god. I though there was something horribly wrong hahaha. so do I need a power bleeder? And noes that mean that a T56 swap will be WAY easier now?

I can't remember how to bleed those, but I think its bleed like brakes. Should.be a bleed screw on the slave cylinder.

You can use an lt1 t56 in the car. You'll need to get the crossmember and cur the floor to get it to fit. There are 2 differently geared t56's. The 93 and the 94-97. They both will bolt right to the old school Chevy motors. Good luck.

I'm a little confused. Are you trying to use the ls t56 on the old school motor or are you wanting to do the swap as a project or a temp solution?

Ls t56 doesn't bolt to the old school motor.
Swap for a project is motor mounts, exhaust, tranny mount, wiring, and any other things involved. It can be, has been and is being done in a lot cars.

I'm swapping everything to LS stuff... The clutch bleed is what is temporary.

Ok I gotcha ya. New fluid should help some. Like engine oil; dot 3 gets old and thins out. Hope it works for you.
