Default I just picked up this bad boy!

I used to own a black ’97 WS6 but had to sell it about 8 years ago when my wife and I bought a house. I’ve been out of the hobby since then and was recently jonesing for a fun car again. This past weekend I spotted this and jumped on it.

It’s a ’97, 6 speed, has about 117,000 miles on it. It’s already been modded with most common bolt-ons. Obviously, the wheels aren’t stock. It has 275’s up front and 315’s in the rear. It also has a cold air intake, airfoil, TB bypass, MSD ignition, McLeod clutch, Hooker headers, SLP loudmouth exhaust, and an upgraded stereo system. The intake manifold has been removed at some time in the past and painted, and the valve covers don’t appear to be stock, so I don’t really know if there has been any internal work done or if it’s just for show. I bought the car from a dealer who didn’t know anything about it.

It does need some TLC. The front and rear bumpers need to be painted, although the back isn’t very bad and the front is hidden under the bra. It has a pretty serious oil leak I need to track down. Since it has the common bolt-ons already, I’ll probably start my mods with the suspension since it appears to be all stock. Depending on how far I need to get into the engine to fix the oil leak (and what I find inside) I may also do some engine internals like cam and roller rockers, if not a complete engine rebuild, depending on funds.

I'm excited for some weekend drives with the T-tops off again!

I see wheels like that all the time on these cars, personally I just think there better suited to mustangs then f-bodies.

how much did it set you back?

Hey Doug, thanks for posting-nice find!

If you're in Pa, you won't get much T-top time for a while.

I don't really like the wheels either, but I won't be changing them any time soon since they're 275/315s. I paid $4,500.

Nice find! Black bras actually blend in pretty well on a black car, so I wouldn't worry about repainting the front bumper yet.

step 1: remove bra, doesn't matter how nasty the paint is underneath (if its really really bad just throw some plasti-dip on the front bumper, atleast it would be cleaner then the bra).
step 2: remove side moldings.

I love TT2's and TTM's on f bodies. If i could afford them i would have them. Regardless looks like you got a really nice find. Have you looked to see what it looks like under that bra (that's what she said)? I have heard that if they dont get taken off regularly and wash then dirt and grit can get caught in the felt and turn it into sandpaper...

It had a front plate on it in a previous life, which I've removed, so it has a few holes in it and the paint is in pretty bad shape. It's really chewed up by rocks and scrapes. I think that's why they put the bra on in the first place, because it looked so bad. I'll probably be getting the bumpers repaired next spring.

That car look really nice and mint!
To keep it that way I'd loose the bra, they do worse than good.

Nice Find. I like the wheels very much.

Keep the bra on until you are ready to redo the paint.

Enjoy!

Nice car! enjoy it!

odds are that intake will have to come off again because its the intake gasket leaking oil. Obviously thoroughly look first, but it's been the case on every lt1 i've seen with an oil leak
