Then you have exactly the same LS1 engine as every other 2002 model year V8 F-body. There is no specific "WS6 engine". Doesn't matter if it's a Z28, WS6, Firehawk, SS, Trans Am, or Formula....they all used exactly the same engine for the same model year.
To get a bit more detailed, there were some 2001 and 2002 models that received LS6 *blocks* from the factory. Understand, it's just the block, not the heads or cam. And these were issued to random models, not just WS6 or SS cars. Furthermore, every '01+ V8 F-body received an LS6 intake regardless of which block (LS1 or LS6) it came with.
Again, I want to be clear in an effort to prevent further spreading of internet rumors.... NO F-body ever received an entire LS6 engine from the factory - it simply didn't happen, though *some* did receive the LS6 block in '01/'02. And ALL received the LS6 intake in '01/'02. This does not make them "LS6 engines" though as they did not ever receive the LS6 heads or cam.

The best way to answer the question.
You will not ever be able to tell by looking at the engine if it came from a ws6. It could have come from a camaro, there is also no way to know.
And what everyone is trying to explain here is that there is only two "different" I use that term loosely, ls1 engines from 98-02.
98-00 will have an egr port in the intake manifold.
01-02 will have no port in the intake manifold
(Placement right after the throttle body)
01-02 came with a slightly less aggressive camshaft
But honestly the difference is not noticeable.
.03 lift less than a 2000 camshaft (something like that)
98 camaro and Pontiac ls1 came with slightly smaller piston skirts, but that's not even something you can see
That's pretty much it!
So the last two things I said basically mean nothing, all that matters is you have an ls1 from another ls1 car. That is it!
Is it possible the car is a 1998 that you're looking at buying?

No erg port in the intake manifold. There is a aluminum plug where the port would be.

i Understand that there is no way to tell if it came from a ws6, I'm just trying to verify as much as i can, that the swap is what it is.

Overall, based on the intake and head data that you've provided so far, I don't see anything to suggest that this is a 2002 engine.
