Default Does Anyone Know How Many Chameleon Green Trans Ams Were Made?

I am eager to know this, because I do not see many around. I have a 2000 model, and I am hoping they did not make very many of these because mine sure does look good!

And you're the guy who was complaining about people trying to help in his car-problem thread 'not knowing what they were talking about'?

fasttagurl, this is Blue-Green Chameleon (also called Mystic Teal Metallic), which was available from 1995 to 2001 on both the Firebirds and Camaros.

The only year in that range which I have Firebird color breakdowns for is 1998 -
1620 total Chameleon (BGC) Firebirds out of 32157 total Firebirds
- 1108 BGC V6 coupes out of 15869
- 22 V6 convertibles out of 704
- 124 Formula coupes out of 2123
- 336 Trans Am coupes out of 12046
- 30 Trans Am convertibles out of 1413

I've got a 2000 Trans Am convertible with this same color scheme, and the tan top, if you don't mind, while you're researching, could you find out how many were produced in 2000? I have never run across another one, and everyone in town knows it's me when I come through because there aren't any others around like mine... all the other colors are abundant, so it's nice to stand out from the pack. I'll really be in a class all my own once I get my appearance mods started... anyway, thanks in advance for the help!

Don't have any color statistics for 2000, unfortunately. Posted some 1998 numbers above; it's probably a fairly similar percentage for 2000...

1998
TA convertibles total: 1413 (339 WS6, 1074 regular)
Chameleon TA convertibles: 30 (2.12%)
TA convertibles with taupe (tan) top: 220 (15.57%)
estimate of Chameleon TA convertibles with taupe top (15.57% of 30): 5 (4.67)

2000
TA convertibles total: 1494 (467 WS6, 1027 regular)
estimate of Chameleon TA convertibles (2.12% of 1494): 32 (31.67)
estimate of TA convertibles with taupe (tan) top (15.57% of 1494): 233 (232.62)
estimate of Chameleon TA convertibles with taupe top (15.57% of 32): 5 (4.98)

Thanks, I'm gonna go ahead and purchase a car history package from Pontiac Historical Services, that way I can get an accurate number, but if your estimates are correct... holy crap! 1 of 5 potentially! Thanks for the breakdown!!!! I'm gonna have to get some pics posted soon...

Rough estimate like I did earlier for the 2000 convertibles:

total Trans Am coupes in 1998: 12046
Chameleon 1998 Trans Am coupes: 336

Using that 2.79% number:

total Trans Am coupes in 2000: 13,805 (7,166 WS6, 6,639 regular)
estimated Chameleon 2000 Trans Am coupes: ~385
