Default New bird on the board.

I've already posted in the new members board and am interested in getting my project on the go.. I have a 76 Firebird with a 400 big block, the body is in rough shape (mostly the fenders) but the car is restorable. I hope I can get pointed in the right direction around the board to get the help I need.

Thanx..

I would say, "Sales" and "Paint and Body Work".

And welcome.

400 big block do you have a Chevy engine in your Firebird? All Pontiac blocks from 1969 to 1976 were all the same block 326 to 455 (different bores and strokes to make up displacment), actually if you were to put a Chevy small block next to a Pontiac block it bigger but smaller than a Chevy BB, I like to call it a GM Mid-Block.

Like I said, a "400cid 6.6L" it's not a big block and it's not a small block either, it's a Pontiac (326-455).

Naw, he's right Black. While most consider the BOP motors to be "Big Blocks", they're neither big, nor small. There is no question that it's a 400. And 73Form, it's 307-455.

The 307 is a Chevy motor are you thinking of the Pontiac 301 it not the same block as the family 326-455 anyone else can confirm this.
