Default 2002 WS6 question

did the 2002 WS6 come with an LS6 intake on it? there is a guy selling one on here that said it came from the factory with it on it, is that true?

The rating on the later ones was bumped up from 305 to 320hp mainly b/c of the LS6 intake and better exhaust manifolds.

Nope, 98-00 were 305. I think the regular cars were 285 and then 305 for 01-02. The extra 20 was for the ram air.

As rated from GM
`98-00 Z28 Formula Trans Am 305HP / 335TQ
`98-00 SS WS6 320HP / 345 TQ
`01-02 Z28 Formula Trans Am 310 HP / 340TQ
`01-02 SS WS6 325HP / 350 TQ

The addd power was from the LS6 intake but a smaller 6.0 Truck cam evened it back out again.
These numbers are not realist though,
All `97-`04 LS1's will make approx 345-350 FWHP
The LS6 intake when installed on a `98-00 car will show a nice gain of approx 10-15 HP due to the early cars more aggressive cam.

Yea, but once you put a cam in it, might as well get a FAST intake and TB instead of the stock pieces.

well that'll be farther down the road, have already talked about that in another thread. advice given was to wait till i had all of my other mods done, then do that for the last 10 or 15 hp i wanted.

Yes the LS1 intake was discontinued after `00 and all Passenger car LS1's used the New LS6 Intake.
