Default Which exhaust?

I bought my wife a G8 GT and I said something about putting an exhaust and intake on it. I was just joking around.

Then we were out tonight and a nice sounding G8 rolled by and she said, "so, when are you puttin on the exhaust?"

What's everyone runnin?
How do you like it?
how much did it cost?

Run American Racing 1 7/8" headers with dual cats and stock GT mufflers. Great sound and you will gain 30-35rwhp. Cat back exhausts are a sound-only mod on the G8s as the stock mufflers flow really well under 400rwhp.

Thats not very nice sounding though... his wife wouldn't approve. With cats and stock mufflers the car is very quiet! haha

If you dont plan to cam or heavily mod the car then the DT headers can be had cheap and work pretty well if you can live with no cats. The DT headers mate up to the stock exhaust so you can have an exhaust shop delete the resonators and weld in an x-pipe without buying a catback. I ran that exact setup and pushed well over 400whp NA and well over 500whp on spray. Otherwise I agree on the 1 7/8 headers if you need cats and plan to mod the car further, give Brandon a call at Maryland Speed for a deal on either one.

If you want your car to be quiet while cruising with no drone but an awesome tone when you get on it the Dynomax VT mufflers are perfect! They have a valve much like the Z06 mufflers that is closed at idle and slow cruising, then opens up at WOT! A few guys in our group have gone to them after trying Magnaflow, SLP, Pypes, etc.. and these are the winner!

I guess I should have been more specific. I'm not going to do headers, I'm looking for a catback.

Any fans of gibson?

I'm running the solo performance Mach shorty balanced on mine. Really throaty and no drone. I've had nothing but compliments from people while driving around. The cost shipped was around $850 I believe when I bought it last year

I'm not going to modify the cat's, that way I can maintain the warranty. I'm guessing I'll get an axle back or maybe a catback and cai

That was one of my 13.0 runs. This was taken while I was untuned and with very little tranny tune done. Just got the car off the dyno today she is now fully tuned. Ended up putting down 384hp/400tq. Mods are Vararam, pacesetter LT's and catback. Should run alot better now that the tranny and everything is done
