My Bolt on LS2 A4 GTO realworld mileage: Whats yours?
Post up your real world combined miles per gallon: Before and after mods if you remember! I fully expect you gear box rowers with your extra 2 gears to whip my numbers so don't let me down! Also post up any other LSx vehicle numbers you got.
daily driving my Daily Driver: 75 miles each day, exact same route: 20 miles country driving, 20 miles city, 35 freeway with medium traffic. I only count the mpg from the daily commute: weekend miles of cruising town and hot ******* are usually in the 16-18mpg range but obviously vary wildly.
(MPG readout on my dash has been verified numerous times to be accurate.)
1. Stock I got combined 21mpg:
2. put on my sticky tires it dropped to 19.8mpg:
3. Lingenfelter CAI, SLP421hp Tune and Spintech catback 19.0mpg:
4. changed to Vavaram CAI and 75% 'torque-management-removed' Chris White trans ECU and I got 20mpg:
5. Kooks cat'd Long Tube headers and canned SLP455hp tune: 18mpg.
6. 06monteSS tune 1: 19.5mpg. Tune 2: 18.5mpg Tune 3: coming soon- and this time I'll stop telling him what i 'want' and let him do his job his way.
The gas stations changed over to winter blend gas 1 week after I installed MonteSS's Tune 2: 2nd tune wasn't 'settled' yet, but was promising 19.0-19.5mpg then it dropped to 18.0-18.5mpg right about the time I heard they changed over to winter blend gas... cleaned my dirty air filter last night... also changed from OEM plugs to E3 plugs at the header install which I've heard get worse gas mileage but, according to Hot Rod TV which did a spark plug comparison, give you a few hp at WOT. From now on I'm just gonna stick to stock plugs.

Stock LS2 A4 = Avg. 17 city; right at 21.5 hwy.
220/228, 598/598 114 LSA cam, 1 3/4 LTs, SLP Underdrive, 3000 stall, modified stock airbox with K/N replacement filter, misc. other mods = 15 city; 21 highway
LSX 440 stroker motor, big *** cam, ETP heads, TH400, monster stall, etc. etc. = Avg.8.3 city; 13 hwy. Obama has identified it as a GREEN MACHINE

On a highway like I-95 for a few hours without traffic I get about 23-24 if I drive conservatively. Around town or on a more crowded local highway about 17-18 mpg. The car is stock except for an after-market exhaust, which I think added 1-2 mpg average on a highway.
Hate to say it, but if you draft a truck (not super close) you can see the mpg rising to 25 or 26.

My commute is about 10 miles each way, 5 miles stop & go, 45 mph speed limit, 5 miles of freeway around 60-70mph.
224 cam, long tubes w/ no cats, cat back, cai, dyno tuned.
Over the last couple of weeks I'm getting 16-17 mpg.
The last road trip I was on was a 2 hour trip, I got about 26 mpg.

Did a road trip myself: 23.5 at 70-75mph. I was pretty happy!

Thanks for all the info fellas: seems our cars are pretty consistent at least. YOu wouldn't believe the wildly varying posts I've seen for threads like this one but involving motorcycles or LS1 Fbodies or even third gen Fbodies!

I really can't remember what it was stock, but with heads and cam set up and 3.91 gears with an a-4, I'm getting 17 Highway driving easy@ 65 mph, and about 10-12 city driving as I always do.
