I have searched for the thread and can't find it. I may just suck at doing searches! Thanks for the help!

I dont consider a stall or gears bolt ons, but eh. 11.5 on a stock longblock is pretty impressive to me.

I'll agree on that one. Why not consider nitrous a bolt-on for that fact?

i think it is based on the fact that it doesnt add power.
headers to add a small amount ,i think the term was nothing that touches motor oil/suporting mods.
headers dont add alot of power alone ,but are needed when you move up to a heads /cam car .
a stall really isint that hard to put in.
gears actualy hurt your power. ie more parasitic loss.

Heads are more of a bolt on than gears to me. You literally just bolt them on. Well torque them on if you want to get technical.

Think I'll take the cam out and strip the car down to a frame with a plastic drivers seat and go for the bolt on record.

from what i understand "bolt-on" means anything that doesn't touch oil; engine oil specifically

I felt the same way about the technicalities when i first read about cam-only records and how very few ls6 4 gens are still considered "cam-only"... something about GM running out of ls1's and handing out zo6 motors instead. Someone please back me up on this cuz I'm not totally sure
