Default 5 annoying beeps when it locks.

Ok so when I bought my GTO everything was fine, then about 2 weeks later the car started to rapid fire 5 beeps when I locked it. It has been doing it ever since. Does anyone know how to switch it back? Is my battery in my fab dying or something?

None of the above. Drives me nuts too, especially when I come in late and wake the whole freaking neighborhood up, but I guess my exhaust does that anyway :/

Mine only does it when a door is ajar, its letting you know that its not locked up. If its doing it all the time, I would guess its seeing that a door is open. In other words the switch or something it uses to see the door is closed isnt telling the car its closed.

Mine started after it came back from the shop to get new cats. Think they could have screwed something up?

This is my guess too. I'd ask the shop what they messed with because most likely it happened there. Of course they probably won't admit to anything but it's worth a shot.

my does it , when i lock it , if i have had the pass door unlocked , as the door lock motor is bad and wont lock

read the owners manual , it should tell you when the alarm codes are read on the DIC , i know if seen door was open , or hood wasnt closed

you can turn it off in the gauge cluster setting i think what u do is hold the mode and set button and turn the key to the accessory position and it sould give u a lot of options in the cluster there should be a setting to turn it off.

Check to make sure your passenger side door lock is not hanging up. Mine did the other day, and did the same five honk thing.

Yup very common to have the lock actuator hang up. For some reason the passenger's side seems to do it more than the driver's

Mine does it when I forget that I have either the wife or kids with me and I try to lock the door before they get the door closed after we get out. My fault for trying to be too quick so I try not to let anyone ride with me.

I'm glad I'm not the only person this happens to. I just set the car to only unlock the driver door when I hit the button on the key fob. I just make sure I manually lock the passenger door if I ever unlock it and it doesn't happen any more. To just lock the passenger door, you have to be in the car with the drivers door open and you can reach over and lock the passenger side door. It works for me.

Words of wisdom from my dad on fixing it:
Pull up on the plastic piece...It slides off. Push latch in to lock position with screw driver and then pull in back. Flip it up and down a few times without plastic piece on and put it back on. Should be golden!
