Intake size?
How can you tell what size intake is on a car? I have an 04' goat and I was told that they have an LS6 intake. I just bought my goat tuesday and i cant get enough!! Hope to start modding soon and make some noise!

Is that a question or statement? If you are talking about the TB it's the stock TB that says LS1 across the top. I don't mean to sound stupid, I'm just new and still trying to figure things out.

if your throttle body has the "LS1" sticker on it, its a stock TB, which is 78mm
if your TB is stock, then most likely your Intake Manifold is stock, a stock LS6 intake manifold (which GTOs comes from the factory) is black, and the size matches the factory TB, being 78mm..
and if you wanna know what it looks like, pop your hood and take a peak.

Any preference on brand or size? I was told to stay away from SLP and not to go over a 1 3/4 unless i was planning on stroking the engine. A friend of mine has an SS with SLP l/t and it sounds pretty sick.

Nothing particularly wrong with SLP. They come coated and at the time I got mine (a long time ago) they were a little over $850 with catless mids. The rap against them is they are a lower grade of stainless but stainless none the less and the connection points are slip fittings which can be tougher to make leak proof and take apart. They make good power and I don't think the HP difference is going to be large against other brands like Kooks. I had 3 bolt flanges welded to the collectors and midpipes so they seal great and are easy to take apart. If the price were close I might have gotten something different but take into account coating when comparing prices. Coating is more a performance and bay heat thing than an appearance thing so I think it's important.

I will keep that in mind when i start shopping around. Are the ls2 parts off a 05 -06 goat swappable with the 04 ls1? A guy up the road from me said he would sell me his ls2 cam for $50. Will it fit in the 5.7?
