SvedeSpeed OTRCAI
I currently have the k&n CAI and i'm pretty sure its causing a few issues that I have read about (slight miss at idle, hard shifts from 1st to 2nd). The car only has 35k on it and the k&n was put on before I bought it. I checked all connections and the filter looks really clean so i'm going to clean the MAF later today in case oil got on it, but i'm thinking of just selling it and buying the SvedeSpeed OTRCAI. I've read nothing but great things about it, but i haven't heard any info about it and rain....especially heavy rain. Can anybody vouch for it not having any issues? This is my DD so it might be driving in rain once in a while.....thanks!!!!!!

Well, I called spencer over at westcoastspeed and ordered the SvedeSpeed OTRCAI. He was saying that K&N is back ordered on the filter, but wouldn't charge me for the filter if I could find one elsewhere. I found a couple for sale on ebay, so I hope I he can get me the intake soon because i'm dying to get it installed

well i wouldnt order anything from ebay or anywhere else for that matter. i called several places and they all drop ship. meaning they place your order to k and n for you and dont actually stock filters. looks like we are all screwed into waiting. well im thinking ill be asking for a refund because with the money tied up in this intake, i could buy my direct port kit ive been wanting to get. the varraram intake has been working great and im sure it will continue to

Here's the email I got regarding the status-
The current wait time would be about 2 weeks if it weren't for K&N being out of stock on the air filter that we use. I've bought every filter that they currently have in the country and have a bunch more on order with them. I've also started another filter supplier off on a project to make a custom filter to avoid this situation in the future. K&N has been telling me 2-4 weeks for them to arrive in the US from England. My other supplier thinks they may be up and running in as little as 5 weeks. So we've got two paths to a solution and hopefully K&N will come through sooner, rather than later.

Found this on the K&N website... Maybe this particular size is only made at their UK facility, I have no idea.
K&N's headquarters and primary manufacturing facility is located in Riverside, California. In addition to this facility, K&N also operates a manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom that primarily serves the European market.

I guess I'm just upset at the fact he told me oh I'm going to hurry this out to you and you should have it by 3rd week of march. I just think it would have been better customer service to just shoot me straight and tell me yeah you are a few month outi still would have placed the order , but at least I wouldn't have been eating in it .

I do believe he said it was the 33-2522 filter. They sure did take the money out of my checking account in a hurry. lol I wanted the relocated IAT sensor, but I think i'm going to call spencer on monday and cancel my order. I'll just go with the varraram intake. It looks a little cheaper in quality but i'm not going to wait 3 months seeing all you guys are ahead of me. I want this crappy K&N out of my car asap....now on to getting this turn sigal issue fixed......

33-2522 is the correct filter. Its for a Triumph TR-7 and some other european stuff... I see there are some on Amazon... are they actually in stock? or are they just drop ship deals where you wont know they are sold out until you place an order?
