Advice taken, new price is 20K I have a light work schedule during the summer so I decided to help a friend sell their GTO. The ads produce very little interest. Is it the car's modifications and or the selling price that are causing few responses? What do you think my friend should do? The car is found in the for sale section and can also be seen here,

As nice as that car is, and I'm sure you have more money into it than what you are asking for the whole car...but truth is noone's going to want to pay that kind of money on an automatic almost 12 year old GTO, no matter what's done to it.
You would probably make more money parting that thing out, but I know that's not always an option and does require quite a bit of work on your part. That or sell it for a huge loss at 20k or so.

A few years back my Dad and I had a hard time trying to sell his automatic bolt-on '06 GTO. I personally feel that there is limited demand for these cars, the general public doesn't seem to like them very much.
Your friends car is pretty awesome but he has a few things working against him...price, automatic, heavily modified. Unless there is someone out there who is looking for that exact car and are willing to pay that much for it, he will never get that money. It sucks because I'm sure he has a ton into it.
I agree with above, I think parting it out may be a good idea. If it were my car, I would convert the car back to nearly stock and sell off all the parts. I think that will net him the most money in the end while making it easier for him to sell the car. It's a lot of work but I feel it's either that or he sell it as-is for a bit less than he wants.
I hope it works out in your buddies favor in the end. This is exactly why I no longer do much modding to my cars unless I know I will literally have them forever because otherwise it's like lighting money on fire.

Everyone's said it...awesome build, but good luck finding someone to pay $25K for a GTO...the right buyer might...but you will be waiting for a long time. put it back to stock and price it for $15K

Try posting it on some of the GTO facebook groups... But, like others said not many people will pay that much for the car. Even though it's built and worth the money. Realistically, he'll be lucky to get 20k as is.
Return it to stock, he'll probably get 15-16k and he can sell all the mods. Probably get close to his asking price, but will take more time.

I can see the dollars invested but you never make back what you put into these things. I would offer like 20k max as it sits but then again if you had the time to part it out you could get 10k just for the procharger and motor plus what ever else you wanted to pull. just depends how much your time is worth.

i agree that most people looking for GTOs would want one as close to stock as possible and build it themselves.
obviously that price needs to be lowered. id drop it about 5k and be reasonable about offers if your friend is serious about selling it.

Advice taken, new price is 20K The owner of the car says he doesn't have time to part out the car. After listening to more of his story, I agree. So the new price of the car is 20K. I will be driving the car next week so please let me know what pics or videos you may need, but please don't waste my time. I am doing this for free because he is a former student.
