no rear shocks for '06 GTO my friend just got a 06 goat and he was lookin for suspension.I tried to find some stuff but it seems no one makes rear shocks for 06.Is there any difference in 05 and 06? He would prefer a serious suspension(adj shocks/coilover) over eibachs and kybs.any help is appreciated.thanks

a stock GTO does not use a coil over setup, but pedders is a good start. some people consider them a "cheap" or "mid grade" part though, let just say they are much more popular here than they are in aussi-land. If he's looking for the best have him do some searching on an aussi monaro board and ask about suspension.

i have a good amount of pedders products on my car and love it. if you want to get rid of the wheel hop you will need more than koni's.
koni's are a good product and at a pretty good price. adjustable coil overs are too expensive for the gto.

Check the ls1gto site in the suspension section. A non-sponsor in California seems to have the best deals on them. The fronts are coilovers with double adjustable shocks, and the rears are an adjustable spring perch with double adjustable shocks. I believe the fronts have separate adjustments for both spring rate and ride height. I haven't purchased any because I am not sure if my driving routine would work with 1/2" reduced ride height as a maximum. However, the few who have them have given rave reviews.

Go to Gravana.com and check out the suspension section. Currently there is a special on coil-over front and adjustable spring and shock rears. About $1,500.00. If you go with coil-overs in front you will gain clearance for larger 275 series tires. That's a plus on the heavy car.

as far as not fitting greater than 245's
I've had no probs with 255's on front (and 275's on rear) with no suspension modification
and if wheel hop is the issue,
I got the Anti Sway bars from Hotchkis and a harrop rear end cover/mount.
pretty much got rid of the hop (even with DR's)

With coil-overs you can fit larger tires. Keep in mind that not all 255, 265, and 275 tires have the same tread and section width. My Bridgestone 19" 265's have a section width of 9.6" and a diameter of 25.8". The factory 17" BF Goodrich have a 9.6" section width and a diameter of 25.7".
My limiting factor is the bottom spring perch. Coil-overs eliminate that binding point. But, of course you already knew all that, right?

Don't spread bullshit. Their is NOTHING available short of widened fenders that allows a 275 tire on the front of a GTO. ANY aftermarket suspension will scrub at anything more than a 255 tire, and most will scrub with over a 245 tire. And don't tell me that with enough POSITIVE camber you can run "such and such", because that ruins handling. I know a couple of people have managed a 265 tire on stock wheels, but that also ruins handling worse than keeping the factory 245 size.

lighten-up man. not spreading bull-**** - just an observation. The bushes and several other bits they offer are OK (not as good as noltec tho). What i was thinking of mostly was their shock and struts - affordable but very mediocre pieces at best - I could have been more clear. Look for yourself – for example - place their Xtreme coil-over on the bench side-by-side with almost anybody elses and check em out - you'll see. this is widely known in oz - where they have more choices and experience with this chassis / suspension. im done. apologies to the op.
