Default stock head unit

what do I gotta do to take it out to put an aftermarket in it?

go to your local autoparts store, aske for FORD radio keys. Bend them to fit and it will come out easy. Do not let anyone talk you into coathangers.

Gotta remove all the trim pieces around it and then use the two ford radio keys bent to fit the release holes. I use 4 0 point phillips screw drivers.

You start by lifting up the center arm rest, pull up on the piece that meets where the arm shuts. There are clips that go along both sides up to the dash. Also take out the screw that is in the cubby hole in front of the shifter. Then remove screws and there you go.

Got a question. When u change the head unit and go with aftermarket will u still be able to use the buttons on the wheel?? Sorry if i jacked the thread.

To use the steering wheel controls you need to get an adapter depending on the type. The type of adapter used depends on the radio being used.
