How did you do last year in the challenge?
What is an average lap time in that car for you at VIR?
I bet that UTCC is pretty competitive

This will be my first time in the challange, but I've been around VIR a bunch of times with NASA. My fastest time in the Camaro is 2:08, and 2:15 in the Trans Am. I won't win, but I will represent.

VIR Main, 3.42 miles around. I've been working on a splitter setup for the front end and I just got fresh rubber too. I really think I can get down to a 2:02 or 2:03 if I hit all my marks right. I'm having the transmission rebuilt right now, I hope I get it back with plenty of time so I'm not thrashing the day before I load up.

Cool! I just saw that you posted that picture from Grassroots Motorsports!

I didn't get chance to take very many pictures. I'm not sure where I finished overall, I'm gonna guess top twenty. But the highlight was winning the fastest Vintage award! There were 5 cars running in the vintage group and I ended up the fastest! I only ran a 2.12 lap, about 4 seconds slower than my best. I'm guessing the areo I added slowed me down, and I didn't get enough runs to really learn how to drive it in the corners with it on the car. Transmission is still a problem, I'm pretty sure the brand new rebuild is trashed, I'll be pulling it out of the car this week. Anyway, here are a few pics.

The car is TT2 Legal but I have to prove it with the dyno sheet and scales. I'm just gonna run the car in TTU this year. For actual racing it's in the V2 class with Nasa, and autoX it's CAM or Classic American Muscle which is a new class this year.

I just saw the results, I finished 27th. I'm really happy with that, buys me some internet cred. I know the car is fast enough to have finished in the top 15, but I made to many changes to it, and it broke half way through the event. Even the warm up got red flagged and I only got 3 turns in with the new areo and then a black flag, then the second session I had so much traffic because all of the vintage guys started in the back for some photo ops, by the time I got cleared a Daytona Prototye fly by and a Viper, and an Open wheel car.... Third time out I had clean laps, but broke about 3 laps into the session. Oh well, I still won and I'm very happy with that!

Yeah, It looks like it would work, but I didn't know where to get one so I made and extension for my with the Splitter built in that I can remove easily
