Is the LS7 clutch still the way to go?
So my slave cylinder in my V blew over the weekend. Since the car has 104K miles, and the trans has to come down anyways, I figured it's probably a good time to do the clutch.
I've been doing a little reading, and it seems like the LS7 clutch was/is popular with stock and lightly modded cars, but it seems like most of the threads I've found are like 3-6 years old. Is the LS7 clutch still the one to go with?
I don't think this car will ever see more than a cam, headers, cut-outs and a tune in its lifetime.
If it is, I'm looking for part numbers. I saw a lot of people throwing around different part numbers over the years in different threads. I'm not sure what the most up to date parts are.

No....ls7 clutch is a heavy pile of poo. Get something light. Plenty of choices of clutches out there less than 30lb now. Don't be skeered to drop some good coin on them.......you'll thank me later

Same boat for budget and mod plans for me.
I've got all the parts to do the LS7 clutch, including the motive bleeder, ate TYP200 fluid, and remote speed bleeder in my cart on amazon, and it's about 500 total shipped (including 2 new axle seals). That includes the flywheel (28 lbs vs 49 for original) and slave and clutch kit. Worst case is that the slave won't be included and will need to be sourced apart for about $115.
Flywheel is LuK LFW191
Clutch kit is LuK 04-216
Hinton remote speed bleeder for 1st gen

I daily drive my V and did an LS7 luk clutch about 8k miles ago, didnt really notice a difference if i'm being honest from the stock clutch except that it works and my old clutch was on its way out. I also replaced my rear main seal while i had the transmission out.

Just ordered the full Luk LS7 setup for $248 and the OEM C6 flywheel for $47 from rockauto. add in a main seal, speedbleeder, and bolts and I'm under $400 shipped for all parts.
As a DD I wouldn't want anything any lighter than the 28lb corvette flywheel, will be a great upgrade and still give the engine some nice dampened mass for smoother coasting and rush hour traffic driveability.

I've got a rear main seal, speed bleeder line, clutch kit, and flywheel in my cart. The clutch kit comes with a slave and a pilot bearing.
Do I need anything else?
