What Parts Are A Must Replace During Swap
Sorry if this has been beat to death somewhere but I couldn't find it. Answered or pointed in the right direction I appreciate it. When doing an LQ9 swap which components are a must replace and which are suggested. I bought the motor complete top to bottom with 4L80E trans. I think it had 70-80k miles on it when it was pulled. Going into a 68 Camaro.

Launching!
On my Junkyard pulls, I had low oil pressure on at least 3 different motors.
I wouldn't do it again without checking (probably replacing) main bearings and cam bearings before I put it in...
YMMV.

What are your plans for the build? How much power are you looking for? Carbed or Injected?
As far as getting it in the chassis, We just did a 73 Nova (same sub frame)
Had to replace the oil pan= Had to notch the sub frame a little = https://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-19212593/
Motor mounts ( uses Your stock SBC mounts) = http://www.ebay.com/itm/LS-LSX-Engin...660999?vxp=mtr /
Trans crossmember = https://m.summitracing.com/parts/hok-12627hkr
Headers (fit great by the way) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Camaro-Nova-...QAAOSw3ydVptNc

I would pop the pan off, check the mains and rods, oil pump, and I'd replace the front and rear main seals. I would not replace the bearings unless I sent the crank out for a polish. (Just me.. )
Assuming the motor got any maintenance at all,, at 70 K it should look like new inside..

Looks like the guy never got an oil change but besides that its just a little build up. I guess a oil pump is relatively cheap considering the damage it could do going out. Would you change the timing set or leave that alone.

If it truly has 70-80k I wouldn't do anything other than what it takes to get it in the car unless your changing cams, If that's the case since you're going to have apart anyway you might as well put a new oil pump and chain in it. I work for a salvage yard myself and we rarely get these engines in with low oil pressure, Many have over 200k and still carry 35-40lbs at idle.
