As far as can YOU do it, you get out of the program what you put into it. Meaning if you spend the time to read & learn about tuning you can do some wonderful things. If your not willing or able to put in the time you might want to consider having a shop do a starter tune for you so you can compare what they did as compared to your stock file. Another option would be to have a shop do a full dyno tune.

There are alot of variables, but a good tuner can usually grab 15+ hp out of most combinations thats not to say you can't gain more or less but thats about the norm from a good dyno tune. Just remember its not all about peak numbers but numbers under the curve & drivability that can be gained as well.

I just put on LT headers so i need to delete my rear 02 sensors, and delete my EGR and AIR systems. I also put on bigger wheels. But since i put on my headers and have not deleted those things my car has gone into this limp home mode and has been running terribly. i just want to be able to fix that. Thats my goal.

Thats not a problem, basically you would just license your vehicle ONCE using 2 of the 8 credits that come with your unit & your done, you'll never need to relicense your vehicle EVER so you won't be affected or need to worry about a thing after that.

as far as tuning for bugger injectors, I have searched and i have come up that i need to look at the Ifr tables? Not sure where they are on Hptuners for a 98 ls1. Then there is a formula to re scale the stock tables. Its hard to find clear information on this. Faq link to it is dead.

What does the MPVI Pro interface allow me to do over the Standard Version?
With our Pro interface, you can integrate 0-5v signals from various sensors such as EGT, Wide Band, fuel pressure and others right into our scanner. You will have real time data from those sensors right next to your standard scan tool data such as TPS, RPM, MPH, etc.
Our MPVI Pro interface also has black box data datalogging of up to 1hr 30mins built in. What this means is you are able to scan your vehicle without the use of a laptop using the interfaces record button. You can then take the interface into your home to transfer the log contents from the interface to the computer. If you have an MPVI Pro it will require no hardware modification. Also note that VCM Scanner comes with both interfaces regardless as it is part of our VCM Suite package.

cool! thanks for the info!
one more question.. with tunning. what do you recommend? i really want to learn. should i just mess around with it little by little, and working with it and my car? or look for a school that can teach me what is needed to know about air fuel, and all the things that need adjusting when it comes to tunning a car...
