Need help w/ Parachute / Odd Parachute Questions I am trying to figure out if there is such thing as an electrical parachute release or parachute deployment.. and if there is an electrical diagram for such a thing? (if it even exists)..
All I have been finding online is manually operated, parachute release systems.
Do Any electical systems out there exist?

Several places make a button launch system. Most guys mount then in the steering wheel.
Check around some chassis company's. The fuel guys came up with them several years ago,
so they could keep their hands on the wheel.

Damn - I was holding off on making my100th. post. But, this sounds like a safety issue. I am all about safety. 
Send Jim Head a e-mail. He developed an automatic electronic deployment system for the NHRA after a S/C backfire. I would think it could also be installed off the brake

I'd use a CO2 release mechanism. I'd be too scared an electrical gremlin might sneak in and then the chute wouldn't open. In all honesty, I prefer to just do it manually. In my OL10.5 car, I had it hanging down right by the shifter and it would be right next to my hand in high gear in case of emergencies.

Many of the Pro Mod guys us an air system to deploy the chutes. The mount the cable and handle the same. They just add an air cylinder off the handle and a button on the steering wheel. That way, if the air release fails they can still grab the handle and release the chutes.
Many are also using air launchers on the chutes themselves as well.
No electric ones that i know of.

I'm not sure if this is the one I saw a while ago?? I never really checked into at the time.
I was thinking it was something like an elect shift deal.
This one needs some kind of air pressure, but is still fired with an electric button.

I have mine mounted right above my head in between the driver and passenger seat mounted on the roll cage.
