Default Ebay turbo kits......has anyone tried these

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVY...Q5fAccessories

Seems like its so cheap, it would be kind of fun to try....of course, i could see the headers cracking and the turbos locking up in an hour.

Ive never tried one on a small block or lsx but usually the only thing wrong with the ebay turbo kits is the welds might crack on the headers or the piping might not line up perfectly. Definately worth it considering the price difference if you ask me.

Search the FI section, someone used an eBay kit to see how it would work out and made a build thread.

I bought the single turbo kit for my 99 off ebay. I later changed my mind about going FI. however the kit was very nice, all the welds were good and made out of stainlesss. people have problems with the turbos though.

i think the link is for the chevy kit but at the bottom you can see the 5.0 kit....probably not that much difference in them besides the headers.

do you guys see how it attaches to the carb?

I understand how you can put it up to a throttle body, but don't see an attachment for a carb

Please, stay away from Ebay turbo's. I worked at Borg-Warner, Turbo/Emissions, and believe me when I say you get what you pay for.

If the turbo dies, get another for $150.

Turbo seals will probably go within 4 months.

even then, you would still have your kit fabbed up totally and get some MP turbos for like 800. You still only have a little over 2k in the setup.

Here's how I see it, and this is what is deduced from that FI thread. Use the kit for its hot/cold side, but be prepared to 'make things work'. It all may not properly line up etc and you may have to make adjustments. Sell the turbos it comes with and go with 2 better units. You'll also have to furnish your own wastegates and BOV. They're not a terrible starting point if you don't have fabrication connections, but be prepared to 'tweak' it considerably.
