www.bmrfabrication.com
That's where you can get a k-member to do it as well.... They have them setup for 4th gens with BBC motor mounts...

I'll be talking to them on the phone tomorrow in detail about it. I'll let you know what I find out. They build a 1,000 hp pump gas BBC that will fit in there.
I'm pretty sure the headers need to be custom made.

Lemons makes a header for a big block in a 4th gen f-body.

You can use a BMR k-member with out motor mounts and a motor plate and it makes it a lot simpler.BMR also makes a transmission cross member to re locate for a glide if you're going that route.

You can also use a stock k-member like I did and put a 454 BBC in a 95Z. I also was able to get Hooker Headers 2455's to work in there too. If you'll look in this section there are several topics about this swap or just look under all my posts.

Working on this same project now. I went the BMR k-member route. My BBC is a tall deck with aftermarket heads (exhaust ports higher than stock), so the only real exhaust solution (outside of making your own) is a set of Lemon's headers built for the application. They do NOT come cheap. Without the tall deck and aftermarket heads, there are some other options that just require some work with a big hammer.
I had to seriously hack the cowl area to make it all fit. Forget about pulling the distributor out without removing the engine, but a cap swap is no problem. I'm also having to do some fabrication work to make an appropriately sized radiator and tranny cooler fit. Nothing too complicated. I also had to move the factory power steering rack to fit my deeper oil pan, but that was simple.
The tall deck and tall valve covers (to clear my valve train) get REALLY close to the brake booster on the driver's side. Not 100% I'm going to get that valve cover off without removing other stuff. No issues with the shock tower area.
My advice to your friend: don't start the project unless you're willing to spend some serious money.
