When are they a MUST. I'm going to install some in my motor, but just wondering if stock bolts would hold up to a blower motor (9psi) and a 150 shot.

How high are you going to rev this thing......if you are going about 6k with it...I would go ahead and add them for extra insurance.

I'm shifting at 5800rpm. The highest I would take it would be 6K but don't see myself needing to. By the way, what all do you have done to you 1500

I'd say they were worth it for both the peace of mind and the extra insurance. Just my two cents.

Studd's in the bottom end are a given I can not think of a singal reason not to put them in....HEad studd's on the other hand. They do a GREAT job.....when they are not interfering with every thing else

With the boost and 150 shot, I would just for insurance.

What have I done to it.....a lot!!
Naw, seriously though.....I dropped in a 383, aluminium heads, MPFI, cam, 3.73s, no stall yet(waiting for the tranny to go so I can get a built unit), etc.

Nice looking truck you have there yourself. I am still working on mine.....I just can't get away from putting more power in it....hahaha...its addicting!!

Upcoming mods for it though include a 4 bolt main and nos...I want a 11's daily driven truck and still get the 20 mpg on the highway that I do now.

Lucky I get like 13mpg lol. But 33x13.50 tires, 4.56 gears, Supercharger lol. I use LOTS of gas lol. I can't get away from the power thing, I'm trying to figure out how much nitrous I can run with 8psi of boost lol. I might try a 200 shot haha. Gonna start with a 125 and work my way up

I heard that.....is the 8 psi and 125 shot on a stock bottom end?

If it is....I see a rebuild soon in your future.

My 3.73's with a 29" tire is perfect...I get 12-13 in the city and 19+ on the highway...I never have gotten below 19.4 on the highway. Most of the time, I am above 20.

I'm not sure how much I would get on highway, my 33in tire and 4.56 probably equals to around your 29/3.73 combo. I'm only running 6psi on my stock engine, I have a SCAT Crank, Forged H-Beams rods and TRW Forged pistons (8.23 CR with factory Vortec heads) sitting in my room. I'm waiting on a few misc. things then I'm gonna pull the engine. The 8psi + nitrous would be on that bottom end with head and main studs
