Default SBC intake question

I'm not quite sure of the exact differences between gen 1 sbc and lt1's and I was wondering if it was possible to use an lt1/4 intake on a gen 1 sbc + the computer and wiring harness as an EFI system.

The LT1/4 heads and intake use reverse cooling water flow. Also the LT1/4 intakes do not have a distributor hole. So no - they would not be compatable with a first Gen SBC.

You can "make it work" with some...allot of custom parts like a distributor with the optical sensor and what not but a alteration by LT1intakes.com and a TPI setup can work easily, but it is bank/batch fire injection not multi port.

Ah ok, well I'll probably just stick with a carb then when i get a new engine... someday. Main reason i'd want EFI is for gas milage, but seems like it'd cost a bit to get a good system up then. Any other suggestions on good EFI systems?

check out LT1 intake.com this guy modifies the LT1 intake to work on older sbc engines. I haven't been able to get a hold of him , the web site hasn't been updated since 05 , but all the info is posted .
