Thank you.
That’s such a loaded question as there are so many variables that come into play. You got guys out there running 20+psi on stock LQ4 builds making 850+RWHP. Obviously a matched combination with a good tune is key.
We typically recommend the boosted short block for anyone running more than a 150 shot of nitrous or making more than about 10psi. Its a small price upgrade for the piece of mind it brings.

I am in the market for a 408 shortblock and I have been considering the atk shortblock so below are the specs of the shortblock on your website
Series: Street Performer
Engine Type: GM LS Engine
Displacement (cu.in): 408CI
Stroke: 4.000"
Crankshaft: 24 Tooth Manley 4340 Forged
Rods: Manley 4340 H-Beam 6.125"
Pistons: Manley Forged
Piston Description: -10cc Dished
Rings:Moly
Warranty: 90 days
Is this on sale for $3399? I don't see why I can't throw 10 -15lbs of boost with 72cc heads my compression will be around 10:1
What's the difference with the boosted block besides the arp 2000 bolts and hellfire rings? Thanks

I want to do an engine swap with my truck and have been looking at the HP93 lq4 long block and the SP38 408 short block. Could you do the SP38 short block with the heads / valve train from the HP93 long block? Price?
I'm not looking for big power right away but would like to get it rolling with a good platform to build on.

We can do something similar, obviously with more cubic inches a few things will need to be changed to match the combination. Shoot me a PM with your goals and vehicle setup and I will see what I can come up with.
