We have a Manley connecting rod upgrade available, but it adds roughly 1300.00 to the shortblock price. The standard shortblock uses the Mahle forged +.010" piston, so we are comfortable rating this shortblock at 550HP. Our engine builder told me you could safely run a 100 shot on top of this,
but if you want to run more spray than that you should upgrade the rods.
We don't have an iron block 408 in the lineup, but we can build one for you for about the same as the 383 Aluminum block
If you need a custom price quote on a particular combination, feel free to email me at: epotter@lingenfelter.com
Thanks!,
Ed
