How long will this last? Any upgrades available? I saw a few on the website, but I didn't know if things like upgraded rods were available, and at what cost.

We have a Manley connecting rod upgrade available, but it adds roughly 1300.00 to the shortblock price. The standard shortblock uses the Mahle forged +.010" piston, so we are comfortable rating this shortblock at 550HP. Our engine builder told me you could safely run a 100 shot on top of this,
but if you want to run more spray than that you should upgrade the rods.

We don't have an iron block 408 in the lineup, but we can build one for you for about the same as the 383 Aluminum block

If you need a custom price quote on a particular combination, feel free to email me at: epotter@lingenfelter.com

Thanks!,
Ed

Oh sorry forgot to ask, could i safely spin this to 7000 rpm's at the track? I'm N/A and not planning on spraying.

I checked with the engine builder, and we are using the latest GM rod bolt, which has proven to be very strong. These are the same bolts used in the ASA engines, so 7,000 RPM will be safe.

Perry, I'll have your quote to you today.

Thanks,
Ed
