Default Arlington Motorsports (AMS) is stealing $3100 from me.

I just became a member of this board to see if I could get some help. I am officially being robbed!

http://web.camaross.com/forums/show...+parts+for+sale

The original For Sale post is above. I contacted Keith and Elizabeth (husband and wife) about the 358 and the GTP heads. Via email and phone, Keith and I agreed on 3100 for the following:
358 cubic inch shortblock
.40 over Bore
Line Honed and Decked
J&E forged pistons
Total Seal Rings
Eagle Rods - 5.7
GM Steel Crank
Clevite Bearings
ARP Hardware throughout complete block
Splayed 4 bolt caps
GTP Stage III Heads with 2.02/1.60 valves
Canton Race Oil Pan
Block is O-ringed
Receiver Groove in Heads
Copper Head Gaskets
He also said he'd include a set of valve springs that would work for my application. Also, the solid roller cam and lifters were not included in the deal.

As it says in the link above, the heads and motor are to have a fresh rebuild.

I sent a check on the 17th of January. The check cleared from my account on the 29th of January.

January 22, 2003 -- I sent an email asking Keith and Elizabeth to send me an email when they received my check and when the motor shipped.

January 23, 2003 -- Elizabeth wrote "No problem. I will let you know when it goes out and there should be a way bill number also that I can give you.
Elizabeth"

After not hearing from them for a WEEK, I contacted them on January 30th -- I said "My check cleared. Just curious when my motor will arrive?
Jesse"

January 31st -- Elizabeth wrote "Hi Jesse,

We hold the checks for 7-10 days to make sure that they clear the bank with no problems. Your motor is scheduled to be picked up sometime either this afternoon or on Monday. It really just depends on the courier's route today I will send you the PRO # on the crate once we get the paperwork filled out. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks,
Elizabeth"

February 1st through February 18th -- I called nearly everyday and left voice messages for either of them to call me. I really wanted them to send me the shipping information and I had ZERO luck. All of my voice messages were polite during that time and I had not even gotten stern with them.

February 18th, 2003 -- Keith wrote "Jesse,

AIT Freight Company is scheduled to pick the motor up tomorrow (2/19/03) I will forward you the paperwork info as soon as I get it. I can also fax you a copy of the freight bill if you would like. I have been in and out on a personal matter for a couple weeks and am sorry for the delay in shipping it out. I will send you the info as soon as I have it.

Thanks,
Keith"

I have called nearly everyday, trying to get some reassurance from them. Every time I call and try to talk to Keith, Elizabeth answers the phone. I say "is Keith there?" Then she'll say something like "yes, may I ask who's calling?" Then I normally get some sort of run-a-round. She'll tell me that Keith has stepped out of the office, or he's on the dyno, or he's getting parts because their other employee has left and Keith has to do his duties now.

Oddly enough, when I call without using *67 (that blocks the phone number from caller ID) I NEVER get an answer. And when I block the number, I sometimes get an answer.

None of this email is fictitious in any way. I have not exaggerated either. I called today at 11:45 am CST and got an answer. I told Elizabeth that this matter would be handled today or I will be calling a lawyer. She told me that she'd send the shipping information via fax very soon. I said "when should I call back? When should I get worried again?" She said "well I have to make a couple other phone calls and I'll walk over and fax it." I gave her my fax number and I still haven't heard from them. It is now 3:17 PM CST.

Mod's I would greatly appreciate it if you would either let me TTT this several times a day (I don't think I’ll have to. More than likely this thread will get a TON of reply’s) or I would like you to sticky this thread. I'm seriously at the end of my rope here and I don't know what to do.

Mod's and CZ28.com members: Please post this exactly WORD FOR WORD on every message board you visit. Say you are posting it for Jesse Boyer. When you do post this, please reply and say what board you posted it on. I need as much help as I can get.

Also, if any of you know Keith and Elizabeth's personal home phone numbers, I would greatly appreciate it if you'd give them to me. It appears to me that they have NO intention of sending the motor. They won't send the shipping information and that leads me to believe that I'm getting screwed.

A very worried and angry,
Jesse Boyer

Just to verify that Jesse is straight up I have myself contacted AMS and got the same run around and failed return of phone calls. Keith and Elizebeth should get Jesse His motor or HIS money. Plain and simple. I am the one who gave a good word for AMS. This is the last time that will ever happen.

I can't see the orginal post because the link you gave is dead, but I can't see how this could be for real.

I mean $3100 for all that? Those heads are almost if not $3k by themselves new. Add a block and other stuff and that would have to be the deal of the year. Something doesn't add up.

Not saying you're lying at all, but I'd like to hear what AMS has to say on the subject since they are pretty well respected around here.

Keith posted his motor for sale...
After some emailing back and forth, Jesse decided to buy it from Keith. It was scheduled to ship out and then Keith had to deal with some personal business first. It wasn't able to go out as it sat and needed to be put in a crate.

Granted it has gone on too long, but you will have the PRO # and a copy of all of the paperwork tomorrow. I PROMISE THIS!!!! I will fax it as soon as I get my hands on it. Theres not much I can do besides offer an apology (and throw in the intake <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> ) to make it up to you, but Keith and I are not in the business to screw anyone and I don't want you to walk away from this feeling that way.

Thanks,
Elizabeth

Matt,

I understand the doubt but i'm completely legit. Its been almost 5 weeks and I've got NO confirmation that it actually shipped. Personal problems or not, thats unacceptable. You can't leave someone hanging with that kind of money on the line.

I agree. And don't get me wrong, I'm still very mad. But hopefully they are going to make an effort to make this right. (read: my products delivered completely as promised, WITH a partial refund.) Do the right thing AMS and this will be over and I can help you get your good reputation back.

I don't personally know any of the people involved here, ...but the amount of time this guy (Jesse) has waited with NO response, ...totally unacceptable. IF AMS sincerely wants to set the record straight, ...THEY had better be the ones initiating contact to Jesse, ...THEY need to take RESPONSIBLE for THEIR lack of action.
The issue here isn't as much that the items weren't shipped, ...as much as it is that they didn't bother responding. Family matters/emergencies, whatever the reason, ...can't you just be truthful to this guy? I'm sure if you contacted Jesse, ...and said, "hey, we had a family emergency, ..." whatever, ...he would have understood. But lack of any reply is very unprofessional.
What's done is done, ...it should never have happened in the first place. It's time now for AMS to fix it. The words in your post above are a start, ...but THE ACTIONS YOU TAKE are what matters.
...hopefully this will be worked out in the end...

...as for Jesse, keep a log (which it seems you were already doing) of events...
(it stinks you have to do this, but better safe than sorry)

Looks like a killer deal for a fresh motor.

I think everyone has had their say and this matter is handled.
