Default W2W 2000 Camaro SS Build (Update 02-02-07)

Joe F (Fulton 1) was kind enough to allow us to put together a killer combination for his street Camaro. The car is a very clean 2000 Camaro SS with only a little over 13,000 miles originally. Joe wanted a bad *** street car that could occasionally have some fun at the track.

- W2W solid roller 427 with dry sump setup
- Big Stuff 3 ECU
- Custom dash with Autometer Ultra Lite gauges & Harlan shift light
- Liberty built 6-speed
- Custom CCW wheels (18x11 rear and 18x10 front)
- Metallight coating on wheels thanks to Helios
- Stop Tech front brakes (rear calipers coated to match fronts)
- UMI tubular k-member
- LG coil overs
- Hotchkis front and rear sway bars
- Rear seat delete
- LG harness bar
- Sparco race seats
- 5-point harnesses
- Momo wheel
- W2W custom made aluminum fuel tank (sumped)
- Big Bosch pump with Kinsler filters
- KOOKs 1 7/8" to 2" stepped headers
- SPEC Stage 3+ clutch
- More to come!

Some folks have been asking about the rear seat filler panels and I have added a few more shots of them. Plus the engine is going together and the radiator finally came in.

Dyno numbers are in. I think the LS7 intake may be a limiting factor. This is with a good solid street tune:

Car is nearing completion. Welding up the 304 stainless exhuast, and a couple other items, then it'll be ready for some miles before going onto the chassis dyno. After chassis dyno, we will swap on the new Wilson billet LS7 intake and dyno again.

Default 4-21 Camaro build update

This car has been sitting waiting for a new intake manifold for quite some time. Now that the weather has changed in Michigan I have been driving the car to get a few miles on it before we final tune it and send it back to Joe. This is my last e-mail to Joe.....

Joe,
Drove the car to Milan dragway for the first "heads up" race of the season and had it on display in the midway. Lots of people checking it out!
On the way home from Milan made a few spirited blasts in fourth gear on the freeway, 600+hp feels good at a freeway role. The brakes feel very good and stable, they give you a confident feel. The ex system is loud by my wife's standards, but I love it. My favorite thing to do from a stoplight is brisk acceleration, shifting quickly between 35-4000 rpm, it sounds just awesome in the car to hear the engine just roaring in your ear. As I came within two miles of my house I stopped at a red-light (wife behind me in her truck), that gave me another chance to roll up the gears, even though the speed limit is 35 I could still get that sound for two gears without going above 40mph. So now I'm cruising in fourth at 40mph just loving the sound, when I see a car pass my wife and come up close behind me...... So the lights on the roof come on and I pull over in a parking lot, revving it up a few times, I just can't help it!!! The nice officer asks me for my license, insurance and registration. I ask him why he pulled me over, and he said "Excessive acceleration, is that possible...HELLO. Well, he did not give me a ticket, which I understood since I had not squealed the tires or went way over the speed limit. All this time my wife is in her truck two streets down taking turns bad mouthing me for getting a ticket and the officer for writing me one!!!
Another note, Detroit area traffic jam in 70 degree weather seen the engine water temp between 180-190 and the oil temp between 160-170 for around an hour.

Default New intake problems

The new intake from Wilson won't bolt on the ET LS7 heads.
After talking with Craig at ET, it seems the ET head was designed with the plastic manifold as the intake of choice on there heads. He said they have no plans to make the head compatible with the Wilson intake, but the intake can be made to fit with additional machine work.
The LS7 heads have a intake face machined approx 4.850 tall from head gasket surface. The ET head is shorter at approx 4.600 which does not allow the Wilson racing sheetmetal intake to bolt on.
If you are using GM heads, the Wilson racing intake will bolt right on.
As soon as we modify the intake to fit, she will be back on the rollers for tune!
See pics!!

Default Final intake install 5-14-07

The intake has been machined to fit the ET cylinder heads, just one cut down each side to narrow the intake. We have also added some vac ports, two in the back for the brakes and the heat/AC doors, and two holes in the front for the MAP sensor and the fuel pressure reference.
