Default Higher volume from passenger speakers?

Does anyone else notice the passenger side volume is much louder than the driver side or is it just my car? The reason I say this is because I have brand new head unit with new speakers in the front and it still sounds the same. My old V6 was louder on the passenger side too. Any way to fix this?

And YES, it's clearly louder on the other side, not just my imagination.

Might have to do with your leg muffling the door speaker and
seat-back obscuring the rear, on your side. Try sitting astride
the hump in back and see how the balance is, in the center
of the cabin.

So you might have to skew the controls on purpose.

If your radio has been replaced, or the speakers in your door, id investigate the wiring first. Id check to see if the mid and the tweeter are both working on BOTH sides too.

I've noticed the same thing in my car with the stock system.I think jimmyblue is right, because when I sit in the passenger seat, the left side of the car is now magically louder than the right. Also you can put your head near each speaker with the doors and hatch open and verify if they're emitting the same loudness as the opposite speaker on the other side of the car.

Everything is set balanced.

No. I used to think that's what it was, but I rode around in passenger seat of my car while my friend was driving the other day, and it is clearly louder on that side.

Well, It does look like the previous owner has spliced some wires running to the driver side 6.5" door speaker. Does this wire just go directly into the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the speaker?
